DEC2007:THE BASEBALL GURU ARTICLE FROM
I HAVE A VERY LARGE COLLECTION OF BASEBALL CARDS THAT INCLUDES OVER 50 YEARS WORTH OF COLLECTING. UNLIKE MOST KIDS MY MOM NEVER THREW MY SHOEBOXES OUT WHERE I KEPT MY CARDS, SO I ALWAYS HAD THEM.
OVER THE YEARS NOW IVE SOLD A LOT OF THEM BUT AT THIS POINT I WOULD SAY I STILL HAVE CLOSE TO TWO THOUSAND CARDS.
THERE WERE MANY THINGS I WANTED TO DO WITH THEM, INCLUDING SELLING WHATS LEFT, DONATING THEM TO COOPERSTOWN, OR USE THEM AS EXAMPLES IN SOME OF THE TALKS IVE GIVEN ABOUT THE GAME, BUT WILL PROBABALY END UP GIVING THEM TO MY SON ALONG WITH ALL MY OTHER BASEBALL MEMEORABILIA.
ONE THING I NEVER
THOUGHT OF DOING WITH THEM WAS THIS UNIQUE METHOD USED BY A YOUNG WOMEN IN
37 was charged in
The two men reported her to the police and turned over the down payment which consisted of ten cards. There was no indication what players were on the cards but the authorities said they were well known players in the game, recognizable to most baseball fans.
The deputy Sheriff (a collector himself) was quoted as saying, Thats as mean as a wife can get The only thing that might have been worse would have been if she had offered his hunting and Fishing gear.
Editors note: Ive now made sure that nobody knows where my card collection is!!
