Born in
Birmingham, Alabama, in 1935, graduated from the University of Alabama in
1957 with a BA in Political Science.
I then had a 27-year active duty career in Army Intelligence followed by another eight years as a civilian in Air Force Intelligence. Of the 35 years, all but five years were in Asia -- primarily Japan, the Philippines and Vietnam, with short stints in Korea and Taiwan -- with those other five years in Intelligence and language schools (Mandarin, Burmese and Japanese, one year each).
I am a musician (clarinet and wind synthesizer), avid gardener, former stamp and post card collector, both of which collections are gradually being sold off on eBay, and really too much more to go into detail about. I am passionate about University of Alabama sports, the Cadaco All Star Baseball Game . . . and my wonderful Japanese wife!!!
