About the Author
Mike Attiyeh, author of Who Was Traded for Lefty Grove? and the newly released Ichiro, Satchel and The Babe, is a published baseball historian and poet whose works have appeared in such publications as Baseball Digest, Pirate Report, Birch Brook Press, as well as numerous web sites. Attiyeh, an active member of Society for American Baseball Research who has Who Was Traded for Lefty Grove?appeared as an expert guest analyst on sports radio talk shows throughout the United States, is best known nationally for breaking the story of Tony Gwynn’s blood clot in 1997.

Attiyeh in 1999 also provided the majority of the content to This Day in Baseball History, a segment in the Oakland Athletics’ official pre-game radio show. Attiyeh, who has interviewed and written about a score of athletes, was a semi-finalist in a National Trivia Contest, held by Society for American Baseball Research. Attiyeh attended Rutgers University and Piscataway High School.

Attiyeh, a former Sports News Director for Todays Sports and Sports Extra, and an earlier editor for ESPN SportsTicker, is devoting his future to authoring more books. Attiyeh currently lives in Elk Grove, California.
