About the Guru's Baseball Data
Source Data:  The data in this private archive was compiled from various sources. Older data was largely dependent on Sean Lahman's database at Baseball1.  
Data Format:  I saved all data as Excel spreadsheets for Windows (Mac users will need to convert the files).  I chose spreadsheet form over plain text (or ascii) because it will be easier to import into Access or other database or spreadsheet software for most people.  For those using SAS, SPSS or other advanced statistical software, I recommend DBMS/Copy software for data format conversion.
Primary Key: Fields shown in bold face represent the primary key.
Downloading Data:  I compressed all of the files using WinZip software to save disk space and shorten downloading times.  If you do not have WinZip software you can download for free from www.shareware.com.
Updates: Check back here regularly because new data gets added often!
