Peter
Dreier is professor of politics at Occidental College. His two book
about
baseball history, coauthored with Rob Elias – Baseball
Rebels: The Players, People, and Social Movements That Shook Up The
Game and
Changed America and Major
League Rebels: Baseball Battles Over Workers’ Rights and American Empire

were both published in 2022. He wrote the SABR bios of pitchers
Sam Nahem
and Joe Black and is currently writing a SABR bio of Abe Stark, known
for his
iconic sign, “Hit Sign, Win Suit,” on the right-field fence in Ebbets
Field. His current baseball research includes an examination of
pro
ballplayers who were elected to public office and the history of Jews
and
baseball.
